The California Lemon Law is also known as the Motor Vehicle Warranty Rights Act and it clearly states that in case a person purchases a vehicle that turns out to be defective or not functioning properly in the warranty period, the consumer has the right to ask the manufacturer for a refund or a replacement of the respective vehicle. The California Lemon Law does not apply to new vehicles only.
